Happy Birthday, Grandma!

Luke wearing the baptismal outfit his daddy and uncle wore. Unfortunately, it's going to be too small for the baptism in a month. He's already almost 12lbs.

I was talking to my mother-in-law when I looked at my daughter and she was carefully coloring her belly. We had just eaten spaghetti, hence the no shirt. Like any good parent I didn't stop her-just took a picture. =)

Very athletic! Daddy taught her how to play catch. Well, actually, she doesn't throw it back yet. But we're getting there.

Big sister!

She finally held her little brother. Gus said she held him and said, "It's OK Budz". It's scary to think she listens that closely to me. We had a great weekend. Very busy. Of course poor Gus was on call so he spent the weekend at the hospital. We went to a birthday party at the zoo Saturday for a kiddo of one of Gus's colleagues. Then spent the rest of the day with Uncle Danny, Auntie Jaci and Baby Ruthie looking at animals. As Kaylin says, " SO FUN!". The Sunday Mommy and Daddy's friend from College, Brooke and her daughter were in town so we went to the Children's Museum. Again, "SO FUN!" The kids ran around all over the place. Macy, four in August, is going to be a big sister in a couple of months and was practicing with Luke. She held him, and on the car ride home helped him keep his paci in and held is hand to help him sleep. Kaylin must have been taking notes because for the first time she agreed to hold him. Take it from me, Kaylin. Being a big sister is awesome. And your daddy knows how fun it is to have a little brother. SO FUN to have a picture of my kids together!

I-CHI-RO!

Luke went to his first baseball game today. It was 68 and sunny as we celebrated Dad finishing his big test. Kaylin loved playing in the Baseball kid play area. They said it would be a 5 minute wait to get it in, but she had already experienced it earlier in the day and wanted to wait. You can see Gus in his red shirt waiting with her. Luke was sporting his baseball glasses and arm rattle. Very handsome. They both did great, but maybe it's not the same as it used to be. No relaxing and enjoying a game. I did enjoy my children though. On the way home Kaylin said, "I saw baseball. I-CHI-RO!"

Kaylin booby-trapped our house last night. She moved everything around and then she carried one Elmo chair at a time back and forth from the living room to the kitchen. She did fall asleep well last night so maybe we will booby-trap the house every night.

Happy Birthday...

April is the month of birthdays so we ask Kaylin to say "Happy Birthday" on the phone all the time it seems. Today she went through everything in her room saying Happy Birthday to the slide, to the toy bus, to Big Bird, to the big girl bed... you get the idea. Real birthdays include, Auntie Linda (10), Nona (12), Cousin Kim (13), Cousin Tyler (18), Cousin Alexandra (21), future husband, Noah Eddy (22), Uncle Stefan (27) and Grandma (29). My mom was in town this weekend and dad in town for a couple of days right now. Kaylin is hyped up to say the least. I have pictures of Luke because he stays still and holds the Idaho Bear like I ask, and I have videos of Kaylin because she is pretty entertaining. OK- and a video of Luke too. You'll hear in one video Kaylin singing the end of the Idaho fight song. If I hadn't solidified my place in the Stein family, teaching my kiddo how to spell Idaho has to do it!

Happy Easter, Kalo Paska-

Forgive the slight delay in posting. Grandma and Grandpa were in town Wed. night - Saturday morning and we had lots of fun. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures of them. Luckily we have a date to the Mariners coming up so I will remember then. Luke is almost at 11lbs. He's still a fussy little guy compared to Kaylin at that age, but she was probably tended to more often...anyway. He's sleeping more and more in his little bed. Speaking of beds, we got Kaylin a new bed and she decided on her own that she was ready to sleep in it. She sure is cute in the big old bed.

The new set-up. Her big thing is to "play with toys." It's nice to see her have some independent play. Just enough time for me to take the clothes out of the dryer and put in a new load. Getting to fold them is 50/50.

When Luke sleeps a little bit longer he'll bunk with his sister. We can't open the closet door, but I can still reach if I need something. We didn't lose much with the new set up. Thank you, Grandma and Grandpa for helping put up the bed and rearranging the room. They are good help! =)

Kaylin before going to church for Easter. Poor Gus was on-call and gone most of the weekend. He got home Sunday morning in time to help me get the kids ready for church. He drove his own car to church and then got paged once we walked in the door. So it was just mommy and the kids for Easter Mass. Luckily Luke slept in the Bjorn well and Kaylin was so well behaved. She loves being in the choir loft and walks around in around checking it all out. She loves to go "See Jesus." Thursday daddy washed her feet "just like Jesus." Small obsession we have going right now- but I suppose we could do worse. =)

Luke is tracking more and more. He smiles and kicks but mostly wants to be held!

"Mommy, see Jesus?" She may think Jesus is a black Kenyan. I think we've all thought the priest was Jesus at some point. I tried to tell her that the "snacks" on the table was Jesus but I may have blown her mind with that one.
