When I was waiting for Luke to get his flu shot I put him on the scale. 19lbs, 13 oz. Are you kidding me? Especially since he's still a skinny little fella.

On another note, Kaylin was watching football with us and stood up and screamed, "TIME OUT!" Smart girl. They did need to call a time out. And they weren't being naughty but playing like it.

Triple 8s! Big Grandpa Stein turned 88 today; born September 22, 1922. What an extraordinary 88 years it has been!

Luke is 8 months today. You set him on the floor and he gets around. Does he crawl? No. He rolls all over and also pushes himself backwards to get what he wants. And quickly too. Ultimately he's just trying to get to where Kaylin is, only to be met with, "NO LUKE!" Needless to say he doesn't have great hand control yet. He loves to talk (Yup, lucky Gus. There are three of us!) and ends up squealing like a holler monkey. And then Kaylin says, "HEY LUKE! STOP YELLING!" And not in the indoor voice like we practice. Makes the drive to Renton interesting. He's growing so quickly. He's working on sleeping in his own crib all night. Unfortuately it's hard to let him learn to soothe himself late at night because I don't want him waking Kaylin. Just part of the dance of having two in the same room I guess. I remember that somehow everytime I think/thought "It will never happen..." it always does. He does smile most of the time and loves to kiss you (or eat your face. Depends on your point of view). Truly a delight and I can't get enough of him. Where is the time going?

Catch up time

Today we celebrated Yia Yia and Pappou's anniversary by going to the Puyllup Fair. =) We had a great time. Kaylin tried rides for the first time. Little hesitant, but never wanted off and didn't cry. Luke didn't make a peep the whole time except to tell us it was time to eat. He rode in the backpack for the first time and seemed to really like the view. Here was our first ride by herself. She didn't dare smile, but said it was "so fun" later on and continued to talk about it throughout the day.

I was shocked that when it was time to actually get on the swing she still wanted to, but there she was. She seemed very nervous but has watched the below video about 20 times already.

Just a quick cat-nap. Didn't want to miss Dora...

We waited for about 25 minutes or so to see Dora and Boots. It was good timing as Luke wanted to eat so dad stayed with him and we got in line. I kept asking if she wanted to see the animals. She kept responding, "No, I wait Dora and Boots." I silently prayed after all that time that we wouldn't freak out and not do it. Success! She actually walks around holding the second picture around the house.

Random videos. The last several are Kaylin singing "silly songs with Larry" from Veggie Tales. She loves to sing "Barbara Manatee" with her Big Bird. She even copies the facial expressions. Also, you'll see a sideways video. Her nanny was going to take a picture of her second day of preschool, but I had the camera on video and didn't tell her. There are usually a few tears when we drop her off, but both times she came out of the room and proclaimed, "I had so much fun!" She also brings along an art project to show and likes to show off the hand stamp that Ms. Mac gives her. I'm thrilled with her first couple of days. She goes Thursday and Fridays for 2 hours and it seems to be a good fit for her.

Happy Birthday, Pappou and more...

Pappou's birthday was Saturday, but we celebrated last week when Yia Yia, Pappou and Theia Jo were all in town.

You'd think he'd be teething with the fact that he chews on everything, but so far no teeth to be had. Grandma and Grandpa came to a baseball game on Thursday with us and stayed to play for a few days. Very fun!

Uncle Sean and Auntie Malou were in town for a wedding and we got to spend a couple of days with them. Their first meeting face to face with Luke.
