18 Months Old

Kaylin turned 18 months old today, and we celebrated by attending the Nordic Heritage Pride Parade in downtown Ballard. For those who don't know, the neighborhood we live in here in Seattle has a large Norweigian (or Norweigian-descended) population, and it's kind of a staple of the community. For example, during the election last Fall there were "Ballard for Obama" T-shirts which featured our now-president with a Viking helmet on. Since Kaylin is 1/16th Norweigian, and it was free, the parade seemed like a good idea. She seemed to love it, clapping for all of the drill teams and high school bands. She was so wired that afterwards she could not sit still when we tried to grab some dinner, forcing me to leave the restaurant with her while Jen waited for the food (which had not yet arrived) to be boxed up. We also had Yia Yia here for a few days this week, which was wonderful as always, although no pictures. Needless to say, the last 18 months have been awesome and we can't believe how fast she figures new things out. I'm definitely going to have to start watching my language. The other day I said "cookie" which precipitated quite a tantrum.
